Morning! Hope you had a good weekend and managed to have some fun. I have been so impressed with the learning submitted, I am so grateful and so proud of you all!

Hello, I hope you all had a good break. Thank you for all your kinds words and gifts at the end of term, thank you notes will reach you! I did not think we would be doing online learning again like this. Everything has been added to Google Sites / Google Classroom - see information previously emailed out for login ins etc.
English will be added Monday and I have also added storytime for the week on google sites and links to short daily PE activities. If you log on to Oxford Owl (free to register) there are reading books linked to book bands, link is here - https://home.oxfordowl.co.uk/reading/

Our Week
It has been a very busy term for Kingfisher Class and they have worked extremely hard. They have adapted to the changes so well and I am very proud of them.The children have started to write their own versions of Polar Express. They have been practising hard for Christmas. They have learnt about Hanukkah and researched a country of their choice! Please remember Christmas cards to be in school no later than Monday.

English - We are our finishing our unit based around the book Polar Express. We will focus on description and making it exciting.
Maths - We are consolidating our learning from this term focusing on place value, addition, subtraction and multiplication. Mathletics and TTRockstars will be linked to this.

Our Week
The children have written their own versions of Dinosaurs and all that Rubbish. They have been practising hard for Christmas. They have also retold the Christmas story in their own words. The children are enjoying our 'Advent Calendar if Kindness' where two children are chosen each day and we have to be especially kind to them!

I have been so proud of the children this week. They showed great resilience and adapted really well to the situation. Thank you to parents as well who supported so brilliantly.
The children have been really interested in all aspect of Remembrance and examined photos from WW1 and made some thoughtful opinions.

The children had great fun using the Chrome Books today and logged into our Google Classroom. They created some lovely still life sketches and worked hard to publish their Goldilocks Books. We have also been commemorating Black History Month by talking about Mary Seacole and Rosa Parks.

Welcome to Kingfisher Class!
